Columbia Police

Dec. 9 – Timothy J. Fletcher, 22, of Columbia, was arrested shortly after 10 p.m. for DUI, illegal transportation of alcohol, unlawful use of an electronic communications device, speeding and disregarding a stop sign on Glenwood Drive at North Main Street. 

Dec. 9 – Blake A. Stirnaman, 21, of Columbia, was arrested shortly after 10:50 p.m. on Veterans Parkway for DUI, illegal transportation of alcohol and improper lane usage.

Dec. 11 – David P. Boring Jr., 22, of Belleville, was arrested shortly after 1 a.m. for DUI, illegal transportation of alcohol, possession of cannabis (driver) and no rear registration light on Temple Street at North Main Street.  

Dec. 11 – Charles R. Taylor, 55, of Columbia, was arrested shortly after 1:40 a.m. for domestic battery at 2615 Lake Shore Drive.

Illinois State Police 

Dec. 9 – Emergency personnel responded shortly before 10:30 a.m. after a semi tractor-trailer struck a pedestrian in the roadway on I-255 at milepost 11 north of Dupo. For unknown reasons, the pedestrian – identified by police as Sinan Memic, 54, of St. Louis – was in the roadway when he was struck by the semi. The pedestrian was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries.

Dec. 12 –Three people were injured in a crash on I-255 near the Jefferson Barracks Bridge. Shortly before 6:20 p.m. on I-255 southbound at milepost 6, one southbound vehicle slowed for traffic when another southbound vehicle rear-ended it. The driver and passenger of the lead vehicle as well as the driver of the vehicle that collided with the rear of the lead vehicle were all transported to an area hospital with injuries. Assisting ISP with this crash were the Columbia Fire Department, Columbia Police Department and Columbia EMS.

Monroe County Sheriff

Dec. 4 – Britny N. Mynch, 32, of Waterloo, was charged with possession of methamphetamine. 

Dec. 7 – Jacob A. Grimm, 26, of Waterloo, was charged with disorderly conduct/false report in connection with a Nov. 8 incident in which Grimm allegedly reported criminal trespass to emergency dispatch personnel “without reasonable grounds” to believe a crime was occurring.

Dec. 7 – Shain A. Loucks, 42, of Coulterville, was arrested on Route 3 at Rose Lane on a St. Clair County probation violation.

Dec. 8 – Melisa N. Seifert, 34, of Waterloo, was charged with possession of methamphetamine.

Dec. 10 – Emergency personnel responded shortly after 9:30 a.m. to a single-vehicle crash on Route 156 at Old Baum Church Road. A 2003 Ford Ranger driven by a 17-year-old Waterloo female was traveling north on Route 156 and while exiting a curve just north of Old Baum Church Road, lost control on the wet roadway, leaving the roadway on the east side a striking a tree. Monroe County EMS evaluated the driver for a possible minor leg injury but she declined further medical treatment.

Dec. 11 – Randy D. Buettner, 50, of Waterloo, was arrested shortly before 1:20 a.m. for DUI in the 4300 block of Kern Road.

Dec. 12 – Emergency personnel responded about 2:05 p.m. to a single-vehicle crash in the area of 10857 Bluff Road near Steppig Road. The female driver of an SUV was reported to have sustained a leg injury as a result of the crash. She was transported by ambulance to Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis County.

St. Clair County Sheriff

Dec. 10 – Emergency personnel responded about 8:30 p.m. to a vehicle in a pond off Bluffside Road just south of Triple Lakes Road. The vehicle, a small white SUV, was running and a door was partially open but it was unoccupied in the water. Barbara C. Ratz, 58, of East Carondelet, was traveling in dense fog at the time and swerved to miss a deer. Her vehicle went off the roadway and into a small pond, landing in approximately three feet of water. She was not injured.

Dec. 12 – A crash occurred about 12:30 p.m. in the area of 1724 Imbs Station Road. A gray KIA Soul driven by Helen Overmann, 58, of Belleville, was southbound on Imbs Station Road near Bohnemeier Church Road when it went off the roadway and came to rest against a tree, requiring Columbia firefighters to extricate the driver from the vehicle. Overmann was transported by ambulance to Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis County for treatment of injuries not considered life-threatening. 

Waterloo Police

Dec. 10 – Sean M. Gibson, 28, of Red Bud, was arrested shortly after 3 p.m. on a Jackson County warrant and for driving while license suspended and no insurance on Route 3 at HH Road.
