Nelson R. Windeknecht and Barbara Riggs Windeknecht celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in November.

They were married on Nov. 28, 1953, at the First Baptist Church in Fornfelt, Mo., with Rev. Lester Bain officiating.

Barbara retired from Waterloo Community Unit 5 in 1994, and Nelson retired from Big River Zinc Co. in 1996.

Their children are Lisa Ann Braswell and the late Nelson Keith Windeknecht.

They have two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
