Bernard R. Ross

Bernard R. Ross, 63, of Maeystown, died Dec. 23, 2013 in Red Bud.

He was born Dec. 14, 1950 in Red Bud, son of the late Alvin E. Ross and Charlotte M. (nee Koopman) Heise.

He was married to Fay Ross (nee Pieper); she survives him.

Mr. Ross was a member os Ss. Peter and Paul Church in Waterloo, a life member of the Waterloo Fire Department, president of the Maeystown Rural Fire Protection District, Maeystown Civic Association, Maeystown Sportsman Club and Beaver Lake Club. He was employed at Robert “Chick” Fritz Distributing.

Survivors include his wife; children Julie (Jay) Whitlock, Jason (Jill) Crouch and Ryan (Dawn) Crouch; grandchildren Logan Whitlock, Rigby Whitlock, Bryanna Crouch and Ashlyn Crouch; sister Cheryl (Tim) Williams; nieces Kristin Williams and Claire Pieper; brothers-in-law Allan (Tammi) Pieper and Eric Pieper; step-father George Heise; uncles; cousins and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, father-in-law and mother-in-law Fred P. and Lillian Pieper, aunt Dorothy Pautler, and cousins.

Visitation was Dec. 26 and 27 at Quernheim Funeral Home in Waterloo.

A funeral Mass took place Dec. 27 at Ss. Peter and Paul Church in Waterloo.

Interment followed at St. John Cemetery, Maeystown. Memorials may be made to St. John UCC Mission Team, Civic Assoc. or Maeystown Fire Department.
