Wilbert McMath

Wilbert “Bill” Dean McMath, 67, of Waterloo, died March 21, 2014 in St. Louis.

Wilbert was born Oct. 7, 1946 in Murphysboro, son of the late James and Lucille (nee Kerkhover) McMath.

He was a member of Ss. Peter & Paul Church in Waterloo, Waterloo American Legion, Operating Engineers International Union Local 520 and was a United States Marine and Army Vietnam Veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Michelle M. McMath, nee Douin; children Kelly (Brian) Bode, Kris Brower (Tim DeWald), Jayne (Doug) Gum, Dawn (Brett) Ivers; step-daughters Emily Nelson and Laura (Chris Cluney) Nelson; grandchildren Hayley and Hayden Bode, Keegan (Allie), Korbin, Olivia, Ezekiel, Isaiah and Elijah Brower, Natalie, Norah and Nichole Gum, Jackson and Rylee Ivers, Alex and Ethan Cluney; sisters and brothers Hilda Diercks, Blackie (Gestle) McMath, Mona Lolan, Needie (Roman) Bleem, Gilbert (Sharon) McMath; aunt Sadie Pahich; mother of his daughters Elaine McMath; former son-in-law Tim Brower; sisters-in-law; brothers-in-law; nieces; nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Hobart, Roger and Jim McMath, Rudy Pahich and sister Cleo Shemonic.

Visitation took place March 25-26 at Quernheim Funeral Home in Waterloo.

A funeral mass took place March 26 at Ss. Peter & Paul Church in Waterloo.

Interment will follow in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis.

Memorials may be made to the McMath Grandchildren College Fund.
