Ian Jerome

Ian Michael Jerome, 23, of Waterloo, died March 27, 2013, in St. Louis.

He was born Jan. 5, 1990, in Belleville, son of Michael Jerome and Angela Jerome.

Ian was a 2008 graduate of Waterloo High School and formerly attended the University of Illinois. He wrote a column for the Republic-Times, “The Way I See It,” and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.

In addition to his parents, survivors include his sister Rebecca Jerome; brother Jeremy Jerome; maternal grandparents Barry and Sharon Olson; aunts Michelle Ann Hudson (nee Jerome), and Lisa Renee (Jack) Hudnall (nee Jerome); uncle Scott (Christine) Olson; cousins Elizabeth (Josh) Niebruegge, Sean Hudson, John Hudnall, Kirsten Olson, and Tony Olson; and special friends Brian Saul and David Welborn; along with great-aunts, great-uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by paternal grandparents Mary Elizabeth Jerome (nee Goeddel) and Joseph E. Jerome Jr.
Arrangements were handled by Quernheim Funeral Home, Waterloo.

A Celebration of Life service was April 1, at St. Paul United Church of Christ, Waterloo, Pastor James Watson officiating.

A reception followed in the St. Paul UCC Fellowship Hall.

Memorials may be made to the Jerome Brothers Trust Fund, or Duchenne Parent Project.
