Elmer F. Schultheis | Obituary

Elmer F. Schultheis, 82, of Fults, died Dec. 20, 2023, in Red Bud. He was born April 26, 1941, in Prairie du Rocher.

Elmer was a member of Zion United Church of Christ Church – St. Joe, Renault American Legion, a U.S. Army Vietnam veteran, lifelong farmer and enjoyed spending time and working with his grandchildren and their various activities.

He is survived by his children Lynn Menke and Craig (Tiffany) Schultheis; grandchildren Tessa, Kehrington and Kegan Schultheis; brother Glenn (Susan) Schultheis; sisters-in-law; brothers-in-law; nieces; nephews; and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his wife Carol J. Schultheis (nee Heinke); parents Fred A. and Della O.  (nee McClenahan) Schultheis; half-sisters and half-brothers Thelma Bangle, Betty Wilcox, Floyd Wilcox, Lloyd Wilcox and Norvil Wilcox.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Dec. 27 and 9-10 a.m. Dec. 28 at Quernheim Funeral Home in Waterloo.

A funeral service will follow visitation Dec. 28 at the funeral home with Rev. Dr. Robert F. Koch officiating.

Interment will be at St. John Cemetery in Fults. 

As an expression of sympathy the family prefers memorial contributions to St. John Cemetery Fund – Fults.
