Ardell L. Prange | Obituary

Ardell L. Prange (nee Hoffmann), 88, of Modoc, died Dec. 25, 2023, in Chester. She was born Jan. 11, 1935, in Fults.

She is survived by her children Lynden (Karen) Prange and Mark Prange; grandchildren Aaron (Jenny) Prange, Lauren (Matt) Schellhardt and Adam (Allie) Prange; great-grandchildren Owen and Olivia Prange, Amelia and Zoey Schellhardt and Layne, Walker and Marlee Prange; sisters-in-law Verna Mae Doerr and Sheryl Prange; nieces; nephews; and cousins.

Ardell was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church – Renault, American Legion Post 622 Women’s Auxiliary – Prairie du Rocher, and a Sunday School teacher for many years.

She is preceded in death by her husband Lee W. Prange (who passed away Oct. 24, 2023, and to whom she was married 67 years); son Steven D. Prange; parents Walter L. and Sophie A. (nee Offermann) Hoffmann; sisters and brothers-in-law Virginia (George) Rodenberg, Mabel (Arthur) Kaestner and Anita (Milton) Wild; and brothers-in-law Kenneth Doerr, and Merrill Prange.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Dec. 28 at Quernheim Funeral Home in Waterloo and  9-10 a.m. Dec. 29 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Renault.

A funeral service will follow at the church with Pastor Terry Grebing officiating.

Interment will be at Holy Cross Lutheran Cemetery in Renault.

As an expression of sympathy the family prefers memorial contributions to Holy Cross Lutheran Church Cemetery Fund,  Renault.
