Alvera E. “Petty” Moffitt

Alvera E. “Petty” Moffitt, 88, of Waterloo, died Sept. 27, 2016, in Waterloo.

She was born Sept. 18, 1928, in Waterloo, daughter of the late Oscar and Anna Moffitt (nee Jaeger).

She is survived by her brother Robert (Jane) Moffitt; sister-in-law Marcella Moffitt; nieces Donna (Steve) Nason, Connie (Terry) Werkmann, and Chandra (Kevin) Hergenroeder; great-nieces; great-nephews; great-great-nieces; great-great-nephews; and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters Dorothy Moffitt, Florence Ruby and Dolores McGuire; brothers Wallace, Harold and Vernon Moffitt; and nephew David Moffitt.

Visitation is Sept. 30, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Quernheim Funeral Home, Waterloo.

A funeral will be Sept. 30, at 1 p.m., at the funeral home, Waterloo, Pastor Larry Croy officiating.

Interment at Ss. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Waterloo.

As an expression of sympathy the family prefers memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society.
