VJHS to play in SPPCS Tourney Championship

Coming off a state-bound season last year, the Valmeyer Junior High boys basketball team breezed through the SPPCS Holiday Tournament over the weekend, topping ICS, 59-22, in the first round on Friday and then host team SPPCS, 57-42, on Saturday.

The Jr. Pirates will face St. Clare Monday at 8 p.m. for the tournament championship. Meanwhile, Dupo and Millstadt will play for the consolation championship at 5:30 p.m., followed by the third place game between SPPCS and Smithton at 6:45 p.m.
