Marie Catherine Kaiser | Obituary

Marie Catherine Kaiser (nee Braun), 93, of Hecker, died July 21, 2013, in Columbia.

She was born Feb. 24, 1920, in Hecker, daughter of the late Henry S. and Bertha Braun (nee Truttman).

She was married to Lawrence Kaiser; he preceded her in death on July 26, 1986.

Mrs. Kaiser was a member of St. Augustine Church in Hecker and the Altar Sodality.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a dear aunt and godmother. She loved her life on the family farm: milking, planting, cooking, sewing and quilting. She gave of herself, touching the lives of many.

Survivors include her children Richard (Donna) Kaiser, Dorothy (Richard) Kohler, Alice (John) Kuehn, Rita (Ned) Randle, John (Vickie) Kaiser and Dennis (Rhonda) Kaiser; grandchildren Randy (Angie) Kaiser, Christine Daley, Jeff (Karen) Kaiser, Ken (Tina) Valentine, Anne (Marc) Joergens, Mary Beth (Steve) Mertens, Beverly (Scott) Duensing, David (Jenny) Kuehn, William (Erin) Kuehn, Adam (Joyce) Randle, Allison (Mark) Ross, Kathryn Randle, Jennifer (Matt) Eckart, Michael (Carissa) Kaiser, Matthew (Jenny) Kaiser and Seth Kaiser; 24 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law Eleanor Braun; along with nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son-in-law Ted Valentine, granddaughter Kathy Baxmeyer, great-grandson Kadin Baxmeyer, and brothers and sisters Henry (Mary) Braun, Clarence (Verna) Braun, Helen (Rex) Rapp, Raymond Braun, Leo (Tillie) Braun and William (Lucille) Braun.

Visitation is Wednesday, July 24, from 3 to 8 p.m., at Quernheim Funeral Home, and July 25, from 9 to 10:30 a.m., at St. Augustine Church, Hecker.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated July 25, at 10:30 a.m., at the church, Father Von Deeke officiating.

Interment will follow at St. Augustine Cemetery, Hecker.

Memorials may be made to St. Augustine Church or Alzheimer’s Association.
