Louis A. Bode

Louis A. Bode, 70, of Waterloo, died July 20, 2013, in Waterloo.

He was born Sept. 26, 1942, in East St. Louis, son of the late Calvin E. and Floramye Bode (nee Ries).

He was married to Ellen Bode (nee Nobbe); she survives him.

Mr. Bode was the owner of Waterloo Lumber Co.

Survivors include his wife; son Nathan (Carrie) Bode; grandchildren Lexus, Gage and Peyton Bode; and brothers Dale (Jeanene) Bode and Ronald (Pam) Bode; along with brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-mother June Fritchley Bode.

Visitation was July 23-24, at Quernheim Funeral Home, Waterloo.

Funeral services were July 24, at the funeral home, Pastor Matt Friz officiating.

Memorials may be made to the Louis A. Bode Scholarship Fund of the Waterloo Optimist Club.
