Jack E. Myrick Sr.

Jack E. Myrick Sr., 81, of Waterloo, died March 25, 2013, in St. Louis.

He was born July 8, 1931, in West Frankfort, son of the late Louis E. and Anna E. Myrick (nee Sponsic).

He was married to Imogene Myrick (nee St. Hillier); she survives.

Mr. Myrick was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Waterloo, and Waterloo VFW Post 6504. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War.

Survivors include his wife; daughter Christina (Dave) Rhodes; grandchildren Elizabeth (Joe) Yaekel, Emily Rhodes, Eric Myrick; great-grandchildren Colin, Kohen and J.J.; and sister Delores Ranta; along with nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Jack E. Myrick Jr., and sister Phyllis Berg.

Visitation is March 27, from 4 to 8 p.m., at Quernheim Funeral Home, Waterloo. Funeral services will be 11 a.m., March 28, at the funeral home, Pastor Matt Clark officiating. Interment will follow at Kolmer Memorial Cemetery, Waterloo.

Memorials may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church Waterloo, American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
