Donald C. Dietz | Obituary

Donald C.  Dietz, 81, of Waterloo, died Oct. 12, 2016, in Waterloo.

He was born April 19, 1935, in Waterloo, son of the late Conrad and Lucille Dietz (nee Fleming).

He is a member of Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Waterloo, was a 50-year member of the Waterloo Lion’s Club, and was a former Monroe County Commissioner.

He is survived by his children Kevin (Sharon) Dietz and Jim Dietz; grandchildren Scott and Mallory Dietz; sisters Mary Toal and Margaret Rienhold; sisters-in-law Diane Dietz, Pat Stock, Doris Chaput, and Margie Holle; brother-in-law Dennis (Llana) Korte; and nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Joann C. Dietz (nee Korte), parents, brother Joseph Dietz, sister Sister Dorothy Marie Dietz ASC, nephew Karl Reinhold, and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.

Visitation is Oct. 14, from 4-8 p.m., and Oct. 15, from 8-9:30 a.m., at Quernheim Funeral Home, Waterloo.

A funeral mass will be celebrated Oct. 15, at 10 a.m., at Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Rev. Sebastian Ukoh, C.M. officiating.

Interment will follow at Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery, Waterloo.

As an expression of sympathy the family prefers memorial contributions to Hospice of Southern Illinois or Waterloo Lions Club.
