William M. Lannom | Obituary

William M. Lannom, 68, of Caseyville, died Feb. 11, 2015 in St. Louis, Mo.

He was born Oct. 22, 1946, son of the late Mack Lannom and Thelma Wall, nee Brown.

William was the owner of Bill’s Towing Company in Washington Park. He was a member of the American Legion Post #58, Freedom Farm in Freeburg. He was a United States Army veteran, serving in the Vietnam War, where he received a Purple Heart.

He is suvived by his wife, Clara L. Lannom, nee Stevens, of Caseyville; children Faith Lannom of Caseyville, William M. (Kim) Lannom Jr. of Waterloo, Wanda (Larry) Crumpton of St. Louis, Mo., Tonia (Brad) Whitlock of Maryville; brother Phil (Brenda) Lannom of Murphysboro; sisters Jean (Michael) Fuller of Hallville, Texas, Dayne (David) Dechent of Michigan and Cindy Carter of Oshkosh, Wis.; grandchildren Brandon Lannom, Matthew Lannom, Logan Lannom, Haley Kapp, Austin Lannom, Darion King, Joshua Wheeler, Drake Lannom, and Ava Lannom; along with nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Sue Irwin and brother Joe Lannom.

Visitation will take place from 3 to 7 p.m. Feb. 15 at Kurrus Funeral Home in Belleville.

A funeral service will take place at 9:30 a.m. Feb. 16 at the funeral home.

Interment will follow at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis.
