William J. West | Obituary

William J. “Bill” West, 77, of Waterloo, died April 17, 2024, at his home in Waterloo, He was born June 18, 1946, in Red Bud.

Bill enjoyed life to the fullest, never knew a stranger and loved to tell stories. Bill was a 45 year member of the Master Masons and a lifetime member of the NRA. He also was an avid golfer. 

He is survived by his wife Sandi West (nee Mathews); brother Cleon (Alice) West; children Kelly (Jay) Viviano, Steven (Vicky) West, Lisa (Chris) MacMillan and John Adams; grandchildren Andraya (Nick) Wimberly, Savannah (fiance Evan), Garron, Nick, Jon-Paul Viviano and Casey Adams; great-grandchildren Lola and Dean; sister-in-law Alice West; brother and sister-in-law Mark (Charlie) Mathews; nieces; nephews; and cousins.

Bill is preceded in death by his parents Estes M. and Maudie (nee Ahlheim) West, daughter Lisa West and brother Buddy West.

Visitation is 1-4 p.m. April 27 at Quernheim Funeral Home in Waterloo with Pastor Patrick Poole officiating.

A celebration of life will follow at the funeral home.

He was a United States Army Veteran and would prefer memorials, as an expression of sympathy, be made to the Wounded Warriors. They will be accepted at the funeral home.
