Vincent J. Mannino Sr. | Obituary

Vincent J. Mannino Sr., 89, of Waterloo, died Aug. 15, 2014 in Waterloo.

He was born March 4, 1925 in DuQuoin, son of the late Salvatore and Francesca Mannino, nee Mangiapane.

Vincent was a member of Ss. Peter and Paul Church, a graduate of St. Henry’s Preparatory Seminary in Belleville, attended St. Meinrad Seminary and School of Theology in St. Meinrad, Ind. and was a U.S. Army Korean War veteran.

He is survived by children Kathryn (Keith) Schopp, Vincent (Patti) Mannino II, Frances Mannino, Thomas (Lori) Mannino; grandchildren Michelle (Paul) Skaggs, Anna (Mason) Williams, Nolan Mannino, Ian Mannino, Chris Marshall, Julia Belz; great-granddaughter Riley Skaggs; brother-in-law Gene Brock; sister-in-law Lucille Mulligan; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, along with many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Mary Louise Mannino, nee Eiskant; siblings Vito Mannino, Ida Groh, Natale Mannino, Santina Wilbern, Margaret Brock and Frances Wilbern; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and good friend Father Francis Seyer.

Visitation took place Aug. 19 and 20 at Quernheim Funeral Home in Waterloo.

A funeral Mass took place Aug. 20 at Ss. Peter and Paul Church in Waterloo.

Interment followed at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Belleville.

Memorials may be made to Oak Hill Activity Fund, Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church or St. Meinrad Seminary, Ind.
