Thursday night crash near Dupo

Emergency personnel responded about 8:30 p.m. Thursday to a single vehicle rollover crash with entrapment on Route 3 at Stolle Road near Dupo.

A landing zone was set up near the crash site for ARCH Air Medical Services helicopter to potentially transport the injured male driver, but Prairie du Pont Fire Chief Jerame Simmons said that due to an extended arrival time for ARCH, the subject was transported by Dupo EMS ambulance to Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis County for treatment of unspecified injuries.

The Columbia Fire Department assisted the Dupo, Prairie du Pont and Cahokia fire departments and Dupo EMS as well as Dupo police and Illinois State Police with the crash.

ISP said that “for unknown reasons, (the vehicle) left the roadway and overturned.”
