One person was injured and another is in custody following a two-vehicle crash that occurred early Thursday morning near Dupo.

Police said the crash occurred about 1:15 a.m. in the 2800 block of Stolle Road in St. Clair County. Both vehicles overturned as a result of the collision and were discovered about 50 yards apart.

A woman was extricated from her vehicle by firefighters on scene and transported to a St. Louis hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries. She has since been released from the hospital, police said.

The St. Clair County Sheriff’s Department said one male was taken into custody for a DUI investigation following the crash. Stolle Road was finally reopened to traffic shortly after 4:30 a.m.
