Emergency personnel responded shortly before 9:45 p.m. Sunday to a crash involving a truck and a brown cow on Route 3 south of Gilmore Lake Road near Columbia.

The Monroe County Sheriff’s Department said a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Andrew T. Brewer, 28, of St. Louis, was traveling southbound on Route 3 just south of Gilmore Lake Road when a cow entered the roadway.

The truck struck the cow, causing disabling damage to the front portion of the vehicle. The driver declined medical transport on scene.
