Thursday crash in Columbia

Emergency personnel responded about 4:30 p.m. Thursday to a vehicle crash with injury on D Road near Valmeyer Road in Columbia.

Responding agencies included the Columbia police and fire departments along with Columbia EMS and the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department.

The MCSD said a maroon 2001 Chrysler PT Cruiser driven by Trinidi Forthman, 22, of Dupo, was traveling north on D Road and left the roadway, striking an embankment.

Forthman was transported by Columbia EMS to an area hospital for treatment of injuries not considered non-threatening, police said.

Heavy rains forced the closure of Valmeyer Road at D Road due to recurring erosion issues. For more on that issue, click here.
