Shirley R. May

Shirley R. May, nee Rodenberg, 85, of Waterloo, died May 4, 2015, in Waterloo.

She was born Aug. 28, 1929, in Renault, daughter of the late Walter and Bertha (nee Wortmann) Rodenberg.

Shirley was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ  in Waterloo and the Women of St. Paul.

She is survived by children Lyn May, Donna J. (Dennis) Underwood, Joann M. (Chuck) Steppig and Daniel S. May; daughter-in-law Karla May, grandchildren Stephanie (Rob) Davies, Tera Steppig, Nicholas and Christopher Steppig and John and Jubal Underwood, great-grandchild Sophia Spencer, brother Glen (Audrey) Rodenberg, sisters-in-law Pearl May, Audrey Fiddler and Margaret (Robert) Melliere, nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded by husband Vernon C. May, son David C. May, and daughter Sandra L. May.

Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. May 11 at Quernheim Funeral Home in Waterloo and 8:30 a.m. until time of service May 12 at St. Paul UCC.

Funeral services will be 9:30 a.m. May 12 at St. Paul UCC with burial at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis.

Memorials may be made to St. Paul UCC in Waterloo or to the donor’s choice.
