Ronald P. ‘Gunner’ Crook | Obituary

Ronald P. “Gunner” Crook, 66, of Waterloo, died April 16, 2024, in Arnold, Mo. He was born Nov. 9, 1957, in Red Bud.

Ronald was employed at Barneys Standard Oil, Napa Auto Parts, and Ahne’s Bakery. He was a member of SS Peter and Paul Church, Maeystown Sportsmans Club, and Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by his son Colby (Kristina) Crook; brothers Donald, James (Patricia) Crook, and David Crook (Michael Marler); grandchildren Kelsey and Carson Crook; nephews & nieces Jason, Jennifer, and Kevin Crook.

He is preceded in death by his parents James E. and Elvera (nee Losse) Crook; brothers Joseph and Curtis Crook; sister-in-law Barbara Crook; and nephew Nathan Crook.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. April 23 and 9-10 a.m. April 24 at Quernheim Funeral Home in Waterloo.

A memorial service will follow visitation April 24 at the funeral home with  Father Linus Umoren C.M. officiating.

Interment will be at Ss. Peter & Paul Cemetery in Waterloo.

As an expression of sympathy the family prefers memorial contributions to the Kelsey and Carson Education Fund.
