Richard H. Hitzemann | Obituary

Richard H. Hitzemann, 83, of Waterloo, died Jan. 3, 2024, in Fenton, Mo. He was born Feb. 3, 1940, in Horse Prairie.

He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Waterloo and  Painter’s Local 85.

He is survived by his wife Judy (nee Reed) Hitzemann; children Rhonda Carter and Cynthia (Kevin) O’Brien; grandchildren Jessica Bender, Dustin Bender, Neal (Kristen) O’Brien, and Kirsten O’Brien; great-grandsons Michael Quinn and Nolan Bender; brother Marvin (Monica) Hitzemann; sisters Alice (Arthur) Stitzel and Edna Mae McDaniels; nieces; nephews; and cousins.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents Oscar W.  and Edna S. (nee Rowold) Hitzemann.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Jan. 9 at Quernheim Funeral Home in Waterloo and 10-11 a.m. Jan. 10 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Waterloo.

A funeral service will follow visitation at the church with Pastor Merritt Demski officiating.

Interment will be at Kolmer Memorial Cemetery in Waterloo.

As an expression of sympathy the family prefers memorial contributions to Immanuel Lutheran Church, Waterloo.
