Raymond F. Washausen

Raymond F. Washausen, 91, of Waterloo, died March 27, 2014 in Waterloo.

He was born Sept. 7, 1922 in Waterloo, son of the late Charles and Mary (nee Bicklein) Washausen.

He was a member of St. Paul UCC, Waterloo Odd Fellows, Smithton Sportsmans Club, retired from the City of Waterloo and the former foreman at Crowder Farms. For many years, he was precinct committeeman and served as alderman for the City of Waterloo for numerous years.

He is survived by his wife, Bertha L. Washausen (nee Wild); children Judith Gipson, Janet Steibel, Joyce (Dennis) Pfeffer and James (Sharon) Washausen; along with grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Laura Roider, brother John Washausen and son-in-law Frank Gipson.

Visitation took place March 30-31 at Quernheim Funeral Home, Waterloo.

Funeral services took place March 31 at St. Paul UCC in Waterloo.

Interment followed at Kolmer Memorial Cemetery in Waterloo.

Memorials may be made to Oak Hill’s Alzheimer’s Unit.
