Emergency personnel responded about 4:25 p.m. Sunday to a motorcycle crash with injuries on Route 3 at Hanover Road north of Waterloo.

Monroe County EMS and Waterloo Fire Department personnel responded along with the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department.

Traffic was backed up in that area as a result of the crash.

Police identified the motorcyclist as Michael Cowsert, 51, of Waterloo. He was riding a 2007 Harley Davidson Electra Glide. Cowsert was transported to an area hospital for treatment of serious injuries. Cowsert’s co-workers at Cerro Flow Products in Sauget and his landlord said Cowsert has since died from his injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
