Marian E. Hern
Marian E. Hern (nee Hite), 89, of Waterloo, formerly of Columbia, died Feb. 2, 2013, in Belleville.
She was born June 8, 1923, in St. Louis, daughter of the late Benjamin H. and Mary Hite (nee Vanover).
She was married to the late Norman C. Hern for 69 years; he preceded her in death.
Mrs. Hern was a member of Assembly of God in Belleville and New Life Club of St. Mathews United Methodist Church in Belleville, and was a recent member of Victory Full Gospel.
Survivors include her children Norman D. Hern, Sandra G. (John) Bicklein, Mary L. (Joseph) Limpert, Jean A. Schoiber, Joyce L. (Dante) Scaccianoce, and Laura C. (Earl) Dotson; 10 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchldren; 2 step-grandchildren; sister Shirley Sieli; and sisters-in-law Edith Hite and Lola Hite; along with sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her grandson James Brian Hern; brothers Louis M. Hite in infancy, Daniel L. Hite and David Hite; sisters Mary Louise Hite in infancy, Ruth Hite Smith, Juanita Hite Reeder, Uldine Hite Webb and Jackie Hite Tyree.
Visitation will be Wednesday, Feb. 6, from 3 to 8 p.m., and Feb. 7, from 9:30 to 11 a.m., at Quernheim Funeral Home, Waterloo.
Funeral services will be Feb. 7, at 11 a.m., at the funeral home, with Pastor Dave Raynaud and Pastor Billy Childress officiating.
Interment will follow at St. John Cemetery, Fults.
