Jody Eileen Laut

Jody Eileen Laut, nee Walker, R.N., 53, of Belleville, formerly of Florissant, Mo., died April 4, 2013, at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, Belleville.

Our “Florence Nightingale” was preparing to care for patients at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital when she took her last breath. We thank the staff for their efforts to save her.

She was born Feb. 12, 1960, in Florissant, Mo., daughter of Myrtle “Joann” Walker and the late Jack Walker.

Laut was full of joy, giving and celebration. She never missed a KSHE blood drive, enjoyed her trips with the Paderborn Girls, and her annual sisters weekend. Now she can make beautiful music with her father and brother.

In addition to her mother, survivors include her husband of 32 years, Kenny B. Laut; sons Keith Laut of Belleville and Kevin Laut of Long Beach, Calif.; sisters Jo Ann (Mike) Pipitone of St. Peters, Mo., Sue (Steve) Holcomb of Olathe, Kan., Barb (Gerard) Henke of Florissant, Mo., and Jill (Doug) Blasdel of Villa Ridge, Mo.; brother Jack (Sandy) Walker of Princeton, Texas; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by brother Bob Laut.

Visitation was held April 6 at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville. Funeral services were held April 7 at the funeral home, Rev. Doug Stewart officiating. Burial was at Hecker City Cemetery, Hecker.

Memorials may be made to the Belleville Area Humane Society.
