Henrietta Shackelford | Obituary

Henrietta Shackelford (nee Sadler), 83, of Dupo, died June 12, 2015, in Belleville.

She was born Aug. 9, 1931, in Black Oak, Ark., daughter of the late Elbert and Margaret Sadler.

Mrs. Shackelford retired from the Cahokia Unit School District 187 after 18 years. She was a  member of the American Legion Post 784 Ladies Auxiliary and Mother’s Club.

Surviving are her children Donna (Mike) Dreyer of Columbia, Kenny (Jerri) Shackelford of Smithton and Donald (Sherry) Shackelford of Dupo; her grandchildren Jess (David) Everhart, Chris Dreyer, Nick (Liz) Dreyer, K.J. Shackelford and Jagger Shackelford; and great-grandchildren Austin and Emily Everhart. She was also a dear sister-in-law, aunt, cousin and friend.

She was preceded in death by her husband,  Kenneth Shackelford; infant daughter, Diana Sue Shackelford; her parents; and  sisters Dorothy McIntyre and Wilma Price.

Visitation and funeral services were June 15, at Braun Family Funeral Home, Columbia, Father Linus Umoren officiating.

A private cremation followed.

Andrea is a graduate of Gibault High School and the University of Missouri School of Journalism, the University of Missouri Harry S Truman School of Public Affairs and Southern Illinois University Edwardsville College of Education. She lives in Columbia with her husband and their twin toddler sons.
