Friday brush fire near Burksville

Republic-Times- December 11, 2020

The Waterloo Fire Department and Monroe County Sheriff’s Department responded shortly before 11:45 a.m. Friday to a residence near Burksville in the 5100 block of Kaskaskia Road, near the intersection of KK Road, for a large brush fire with nearby buildings.

The backyard area brush was on fire with a large amount of smoke in the area. Emergency crews were able to contain the blaze.
