Evelyn B. Blank | Obituary

Evelyn B. Blank, nee Harres, 89, of Columbia, died Sept. 1, 2014 in St. Louis.

She was born Jan. 2, 1925 in Columbia, daughter of the late Fred and Marie Harres, nee Stemler.

She was married to the late Elmer E. Blank. They were married Dec. 29, 1951 in Columbia. He had passed away Feb. 4, 1991.

Evelyn was retired from Memorial Hospital in Belleville as a registered nurse.

She was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in Columbia, where she had been a long-time member in the church orchestra and choir, Columbia Womenโ€™s Club, The Retired Nurses of Monroe County, Columbia Sister Cities, Columbia Senior Citizens, Red Hat Society, Order of the Eastern Star, and American Legion Post #581 Auxiliary in Columbia.

She is survived by son, Robert L. (Mary Sue) Blank of Columbia; daughter, Diane (Dave) Silva of Columbia; grandchildren, Jessica (Brent) Neumeyer, Trent Blank, Brenna (Jon) Woodrome and Joe Silva; a great-grandchild, Leo Neumeyer; brother Kenneth Harres of Millstadt; sister Mary Ann Dillenberger of Waterloo, along with other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by a grandson, Tony Silva, and brothers, Fredrick and Carol Harres.

Visitation will take place from 4 to 8 p.m. Sept. 4 at Lawlor Funeral Home inย  Columbia.

Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Sept. 5 at St. Paul United Church of Christ in Columbia.

Interment will follow in the Evangelical St. Paul Cemetery in Columbia.

Memorials may be made to St. Paul United Church of Christ Music Fund or Building Fund.
