Arnold R. Mudd | Obituary

Arnold R. Mudd, 93, of Red Bud, died peacefully Dec. 31, 2023, at his residence.  

He was born to the late Joseph Arnold and Catherine (nee Bessen) Mudd on Feb. 20, 1930, in Modoc.  

Arnold married Patricia (nee Szczerbik) Combs on Aug. 26, 1989, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Red Bud; she survives.  

He had worked various trades during his life. 

Arnold was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Red Bud, Knight of Columbus, American Legion and V.F.W.  He was a Korean Conflict Army veteran.  

Arnold loved working in the yard, gardening and playing many sports with family and friends. He loved singing and brought a smile to everyone he met.  

He is survived by his wife Patricia Combs Mudd, children Terry Mudd, Angela (John) Hennekes, Sally Vocke and Lucy (Mike) Hollman and several stepchildren; siblings Jean (LeRoy) Buskirk, Katherine (Glen) Schoeneberger, Vi (Ray) Meyer, Merle (Pat) Mudd; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Robert, Percy, Melvin, Marvin, Francis, Floyd and Orville Mudd 

Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Jan. 5 at Pechacek Funeral Home, Red Bud, and 10-11 a.m. Jan. 6 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Red Bud.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated following visitation at the church with Fr. Carl Scherrer officiating.

Interment will be at St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery in Ruma.

Memorials may be made to donor’s choice.
