Alvin L. Borcharding | Obituary

Alvin L. Borcharding, 85, of Columbia, died Aug. 31, 2013, in Red Bud.

He was born Jan. 27, 1928, in Maeystown, son of the late Henry and Wilhelmina Borcharding (nee Juelfs).

He was married to Arlou I. Borcharding (nee Janson); she survives him.

Mr. Borcharding was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Columbia. He was also a member of International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers Local #30.

Survivors include his wife; son Tom Borcharding; grandson Jon Borcharding; and daughter-in-law Marilyn Borcharding; and nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his  parents, he was preceded in death by his son Donald Borcharding; sisters Marie (Alfred) Heusohn, Ardel (John) Durrer and Nelda (William) Smith; and brothers Armin(Leta) Borcharding, Henry (Laurine) Borcharding and Alfred (Erma) Borcharding.

Visitation and funeral services were Sept. 2-3, at Quernheim Funeral Home, Pastor Bob Goddard officiating.

Interment followed at Evangelical St. Paul Cemetery, Columbia.
