Alvin H. Range
Alvin H. Range, 93, of Waterloo, formerly of Cahokia, died Jan. 23, 2013, in Columbia.
He was born Jan. 7, 2013, in Centreville, son of the late Anton and Lillian Range (nee Levin).
He was married to Evelyn Range (nee Kamarit) for 64 years; she survives him.
Mr. Range was the owner and operator of the former Dupo Kartway. He was a former courier with the St. Louis Post-Dispatch in the Cahokia and Granite City areas. He was a member of Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Waterloo, and was formerly a longtime member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Cahokia.
He was an avid golfer, bowler, horseshoe thrower and St. Louis Cardinals fan.
Survivors include his wife; daughters Elizabeth Snow of California, Suzanne (David) Mueller of Barnhard, Mo., Donna Range of Houston, Texas, Mary (Tim) Weis of Greenville, and Kathy (Kevin) Bement of Waterloo; 11 grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; eight step-great-grandchildren; brother Anton Range of Columbia; sister-in-law Mildred Range of Millstadt; along with brothers- and sisters-in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter Virginia Range, brother Arthur Range; and sisters Lillie Hohmeier, Loretta Pierce and Laverne Schlichter.
Visitation was Jan. 27-28, at Braun Family Funeral Home, Columbia.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated Jan. 28, at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, in Waterloo, Father Osang Idagbo officiating.
Interment followed at Evangelical St. Paul Cemetery, Columbia.
