Alfred C. Dehn

Alfred C. Dehn, 88, of Columbia, died Sept. 13, 2015, at St. Anthony’s Medical Center, St. Louis.

He was born March 16, 1927, in Waterloo, son of the late Peter and Louisa Dehn (nee Eisenbart).

He married Anna Dehn (nee Bagsby) on March 16, 1950, in Tipton; she preceded him in death on Nov. 9, 2008.

Alfred retired from Lancet Medical, St. Louis. Many local folks will remember him having worked at Kruse Chevrolet and Columbia Motors in Columbia earlier in his career. He served in the Army Air Corps and was a veteran of World War II. He was also a great St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan.

Surviving are his sons, Gary Dehn of Columbia, and Ronald (Shirley) Dehn of Waterloo; daughters, Carol Dehn of Tampa, Fla., and Judith (Norman) Mitchell of Caseyville; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

He was also preceded in death by a sister Marcella “Sally” Langenstein.

Visitation is Sunday, Sept.  20, from 3 to 7 p.m., at Lawlor Funeral Home, Columbia.

A funeral Mass will be held Monday, Sept. 21, at 10 a.m., at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Columbia, with Fr. Carl Scherrer officiating.

Interment will follow at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis.
