Small earthquake near Valmeyer

A 2.0-magnitude earthquake was recorded in rural Monroe County on Sunday night, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.
It was detected at 8:23 p.m. just more than 3.5 miles south-southwest of Valmeyer and was at a depth of about seven miles.
As of Tuesday, only a handful of local residents reported to the USGS that they had felt the minor quake.
