Wittenauer – Thiele

Gladys Mary Wittenauer of Red Bud and Ray William Thiele of Waterloo were married Sept. 14, 2013.

The ceremony took place at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Red Bud, with Msgr. Dennis Schaefer and Pastor Darryl Jones officiating.

The bride was given in marriage by her brother, Harvey H. Hoffman.

Ardell Roider, cousin of the bride, was the matron of honor.

Scott Thiele, son of the groom, was the best man.

Guests were seated by Terry Wittenauer, David Wittenauer and James Wittenauer, sons of the bride.

The guest book and programs were attended by Kim Hesterberg, daughter of the groom, and Shirley Vogt, daughter of the bride.

Kathi Horvath, daughter of the groom, did the first scripture reading. Mary Lea Van Rider and Rosalie Heizer, daughters of the bride, read the responsorial psalm and petitions.

Nicholas Wittenauer, grandson of the bride, was the altar server.

Robin Hentis and Deb Martmann provided the music. Joele Wittenauer, niece of the bride, was the photographer.

Gladys and Ray are 1948 graduates of Waterloo High School. Their combined family includes nine children, 21 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

A reception took place at St. Patrick’s Parish Center in Ruma.
