William “Bill” Posey, 68, of North Fort Meyers, Fla. died April 19, 2014 in North Fort Meyers, Fla.

He was born Oct. 30, 1945 in Earl, Ark. to John and Susie (nee Pounders) Posey.

He is survived by Janet (Mathews) Posey; daughter Connie (Tony) May; brothers Truman Posey, Numan (Pete) and Alma Posey, Ray and Barb Posey, Dessie and Sheldon Price, Ilene and Eddie Vandiver, Linda Wayland, Joyce Guebert; grandchildren Courtney (Jason) Siburt, Macy Toal, Griffin Toal, Camille Toal, Joe May and Melissa May; great-grandchildren Elli Dinges, Dalen Dinges and Abbey Siburt.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers John Posey, Lee Posey and Butch Posey; twin sister Glenda Byrd and sister Ernestine Myhan.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois.

The family is hosting a celebration of life at his daughter’s house at 506 Glendell Lane in Waterloo. It will begin at 3 p.m. April 26, with Pastor Matt Friz officiating at 4 p.m.
