Marlin and Bonnie Wetzel

Marlin and Bonnie Wetzel celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Dec. 7, 2013.

They were married Dec. 6, 1963, in Waterloo.

Marlin was an over-the-road truck driver and retired in 2002.

Bonnie was an activity professional at Oak Hill Nursing Home in Waterloo, retiring in 2012.

The Wetzels are members of Faith Community Church in Columbia and are part of the Your Friends in Jesus Bible Study group.

They have seven children: Rhonda (John) Benyo, Chris (Susan) Wetzel, Tracy (Chris) Dombek, Aaron (Lynette) Wetzel, Ryan (Jill) Wetzel, Amy (Shawn) Southard and Eric (Brittany) Wetzel.

They also have 15 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

The Wetzels celebrated their anniversary at St. Mary’s Parish Hall in Valmeyer. Their best man, Dillard Munsell, and maid of honor, Iris Munsell, were both present at this celebration.
