Marlene E. Marquardt

Marlene  E.  Marquardt (nee Stumpf), 69, of Waterloo, died May 29, 2016, in Waterloo.

She was born Feb. 24, 1947, in Belleville, daughter of the late Charles and Esther A. Stumpf (nee Nobbe).

Marlene was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, VFW Ladies Auxiliary, and was volunteer at Nice Twice.

She is survived by her sons Steve (Kathy) Marquardt, John (Gina) Marquardt, Jeremy (Angie) Marquardt, and James (Sarah) Marquardt; grand-children Dustin Wedel and Kayla (Kaleb) Matzenbacher, Boean and Danya Marquardt, Bryce, Lyndsey and Gillian Marquardt, and Alex and Madison Marquardt; sister LaVerne (Keith) Mentel; brothers Ronald (Sandi) Stumpf, Roger (Susan) Stumpf, and Richard (RuAnna) Stumpf; and aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Marvin J. Marquardt, son Jason Marquardt and granddaughter Madeline Marquardt.

Visitation is June 2, from 4 to 8 p.m., at Quernheim Funeral Home; and June 3, from 9 to 10 a.m., at St. Paul United Church of Christ, Waterloo.

Funeral services will be June 3, at 10 a.m., at the church, Pastor Merlyn Lawrence officiating.

Interment will follow at Kolmer Memorial Cemetery, Waterloo.

As an expression of sympathy the family prefers memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society.
