Marie R. Voelker | Obituary

Marie R. Voelker (nee Mueller), 91, of Waterloo, died May 13, 2013, in Waterloo.

She was born Nov. 10, 1921, in Harrisonville, daughter of the late George and Maria Mueller (nee Bertram).

She was married to Wilbert O.C. Voelker.

Voelker was a member of Zion United Church of Christ, St. Joe, and Zion Womens Fellowship.

She was also a member of Monroe County Farm Bureau and was an avid bowler, Kloepper player, bingo player and St. Louis Cardinals fan.
Survivors include her husband; children Gary Voelker (Cena Pogue), Lennis (Kim) Voelker, Don (Jean) Voelker, and Gene (Holly) Voelker; grandchildren Denise Voelker, Andrew (Karen) Voelker, Adam (Jenny) Voelker, Austin Voelker, Alex (Anne) Voelker, Daniel Voelker, Brianna Voelker, Jada Voelker, Matthew (Lauren) Voelker, and Mitchell Voelker (Bianca Doherty); great-grandchildren Logan Voelker, Dane Voelker, Reagan Posey, Kennedy Voelker, Audrey Voelker and Wesley Voelker; and sisters-in-law Ada Mueller and Pearl Hirsch; along with nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by grandson Eric Michael Voelker; sisters Frieda Voelker, Elizabeth Scariot and Ruth Fehrenz; and brothers Milton Mueller and Floyd Mueller.

Visitation was May 14 at Quernheim Funeral Home in Waterloo and May 15 at Zion United Church of Christ, St. Joe.

Funeral services were May 14 at the church, Pastor Nancy Spier-Lee officiating.

Interment followed at Zion Cemetery, St. Joe.

Memorials may be made to Zion UCC, St. Joe.
