David E. Quernheim

David E. Quernheim, 83, of Waterloo, died May 26, 2013, in Waterloo.

He was born April 9, 1930, in Waterloo, son of the late Emil W. and Hulda Quernheim (nee Hartman).

He was married to Wanda Quernheim (nee Vogt) for 58 years; she survives him.

He was retired as the owner and operator of Quernheim Funeral Home, Waterloo. He was also a Korean War veteran of the U.S. Air Force.

Survivors include his wife; children Michael (Jane) Quernheim, Lisa (Charles) Fuszner, and Douglas (Nancy) Quernheim; grandchildren Patrick Quernheim, Rebecca Quernheim (fiance Ethan Belanger), Katherine Fuszner, John Fuszner, James Fuszner, Hannah Quernheim and
Jacob Quernheim; sister Margaret “Mitzie” Frederick; and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Sharon Quernheim, Clarence “Buddy” and Susan Vogt, and Joan and Robert A. Hoffmann; along with nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation is Wednesday, May 29, from 2 to 8 p.m., at Quernheim Funeral Home, Waterloo.

Funeral services are May 30, at the funeral home, Pastor Matt Friz officiating.

Interment will follow at Kolmer Memorial Cemetery, Waterloo.
