Arline and Margaret Ahne celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Dec. 1, 2012, with a gathering of family and friends at a Mass and reception at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, in Tipton.

Arline Ahne and the former Margaret Lutman were married Dec. 1, 1962, at Our Lady of Good Council Catholic Church, in Renault, with Father Iffert officiating.

The Ahnes have five children: Debbie (Bobby) Condor, the late Wade Travis Ahne, Donna (Karl) Frank, Anne (John) Biffar and Steven Ahne.

They also have seven grandchildren: Kenny (Melissa) Schmidt, Scott Schmidt, Mitchell Frank, Andrew, Dana, Shane Biffar and Grace Ahne; in addition to two great-grandchildren Austin and Olivia Schmidt.

Arline retired from the U.S. Navy in 1977 and Peabody Coal Co. in 1992.
