Work proceeded Friday on the Route 3 improvement project during the recent break in the weather. Pictured right, large rock is being delivered and placed to enhance drainage under the highway, about one-quarter mile south of Park Street in Waterloo.

Below, construction workers use a crane to put metal rafters in place Friday on a portion of the future new Waterloo Fire Department station on Illinois Avenue at Moore Street. Work on the new fire station is expected to be completed later this year.
