Waterloo burglar caught again

John H. Cooper, 40, of 311 S. Market Street, Waterloo, was charged this week in Monroe County Circuit Court with residential burglary following an incident that occurred late Tuesday night.

Court information states that Cooper broke into and entered the residence of Jimmy Foster at 408 Lakeview Drive in Waterloo with the intent to commit a theft. Initial reports are that Cooper broke a window to gain entry into the home. Cooper was arraigned Thursday at the courthouse and entered a plea of not guilty. Bond was set at $250,000 and a preliminary hearing date of Aug. 21 was scheduled. He remains in the Monroe County Jail.

Cooper was also charged with domestic battery for “placing his hands around the neck” of a female family member earlier Tuesday night at 311 S. Market Street.

On July 17, Cooper was arrested in connection with a burglary at U-Scrap, located at 8814 Summer Road just north of Waterloo, during which money was stolen.
