The Columbia Fire Department and Columbia EMS responded shortly before 1 p.m. Monday to the report of a vehicle in a body of water in the area of 7508 Triple Lakes Road north of Columbia.

It was determined shortly after the vehicle was discovered that its driver had safely exited the vehicle and was warming up at a neighboring residence.

Heavy snow was falling and temperatures were near zero degrees at the time of the crash.
