Two injured in Friday crash

Two drivers were transported to area hospitals following a three-vehicle crash that occurred Friday evening on Route 3 at North Moore Street in Waterloo.

Waterloo police said a Dodge cargo van driven by Melanie Angel, 17, of Waterloo, was attempting to cross Route 3 from Moore Street when her vehicle was struck by a Honda Accord driven by Andrew Cooperman, 51, of Waterloo, which was traveling on Route 3. A Toyota Corolla driven by Marty Kovarik, 25, of Waterloo, was struck as a result of the collision.

Angel, who was cited for failure to yield, was transported by ambulance to St. Anthony’s Medical Center in St. Louis County. Cooperman was transported to Red Bud Regional Hospital.
