Emergency personnel responded about 4:15 p.m. Tuesday to a three-vehicle crash on I-255 southbound near milepost 5 in Columbia.

No injuries were reported in the crash.

Illinois State Police said one of the vehicles involved was described as a white Dodge Charger or Challenger that left the scene before police arrived on scene. This crash is still under investigation.

While police, EMS and fire department personnel were tending to this crash, a wrong-way driver was observed traveling on I-255 near the crash area. This driver was able to veer off into the median and resume travel in the correct direction of travel without further incident.
