Waterloo police received a report of a man aged in his 40s driving a small red car that apparently attempted to lure a 10-year-old girl into his vehicle about 8 p.m. Tuesday in the area of Library Street at Park Street.

The vehicle was last seen driving north on Library Street.

After talking with the young girl, police are unable to determine if the man was trying to abduct her or simply offering help during cold weather. No other description of the man or his vehicle were available.
