Emergency personnel responded about 9:50 a.m. Sunday to a two-vehicle crash on Route 3 at Bottom Avenue near Walgreens.

Traffic in that area was restricted temporarily as police, EMS and firefighters worked to clear the crash.

Police said a 2005 Volkswagen driven by Christian Doughty, 22, of Granite City, drove into the rear of a 2008 Chevy Malibu driven by Stevie McMillan, 18, of East Carondelet, which was traveling south on Route 3 at the intersection near Walgreens.

Doughty was transported to Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis County for treatment of minor injuries.
