Waterloo fire, EMS and police responded to the 600 block of Morrison Avenue shortly before noon Saturday for a report of a structure fire.
A responding police officer quickly extinguished the blaze, which appeared to be the result of a kitchen appliance fire. An oven and a microwave were moved outside of the house while fire fighters made sure the fire was completely extinguished.
